Her detailed painting Under the Fig Canopy recently won the prestigious GreenWay Art Prize (12 to 17 age category).
The GreenWay Art Prize was established in 2010 to promote Arts and Culture in Sydney’s inner west. The annual prize invites artists of all ages to celebrate our beautiful waterways, and Alice created her winning entry with an image of a sun-dappled canal towpath, sheltered by majestic Sydney fig trees.
“The painting was created from a reference photo taken by Alice, and she was awarded first prize for her realistic, but romantic composition,” said Drew.
“It is so exciting to see this creativity and talent thriving at IGS. Under the Fig Canopy highlights both Alice’s immense talent and the beautiful Sydney landscape.”
Congratulations, Alice!
