Harry Sdraulig, Composer in Residence at IGS and newly appointed High School Music teacher, will see his premiere work for the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) performed at Angel Place and the Sydney Opera House in February.
Harry became IGS Composer in Residence in 2022 while also completing a Doctor of Musical Arts in composition at the University of Sydney.
Last year he worked closely with Year 12 students as they created their HSC compositions, and he assisted with the development of a Music Composition curriculum for students from Years 9 to 11.
Harry’s work, Slanted, will be played by top soloist Russian violinist Ilya Gringolts, along with works by Bruch, Mendelssohn, Martin and Bacewicz.
IGS families who would like to attend the world-first performances of Harry’s newest composition in February at Angel Place or the Sydney Opera House can find tickets here.
