Year 8 student Ruben Shepard recently made a remarkable impact at the National Track Cycling Competition in Brisbane. Ruben kicked off the competition with a strong start, placing 6th in the Flying 200 with an impressive time of 12.4 seconds, averaging 57 KPH, and emerging as the second fastest rider from NSW.
Ruben’s journey to national recognition was fueled by his outstanding performance at the State championships, where he collected an impressive tally of medals, including Gold in both the Keirin Championship and Team Pursuit setting a new NSW record, Silver in the Individual Pursuit and Sprint Championship, and Bronze in the Points Race.
