It was fantastic to have the City of Sydney visit IGS during our Rue Kelly Second Hand Uniform Sale on 31 October. They set up a Recycling Help Pop-Up for parents, providing a wonderful opportunity to learn about the city’s recycling services and events.
Parents and students brought along old small electronics, mobile phones and household batteries to recycle on the day. It was a great chance to ask all those tricky recycling questions and get expert advice.
The City of Sydney offers a variety of recycling services, including:
- Free Doorstep Recycling Service: Monday to Friday, collecting items from your home.
- Weekly Ultimo Recycling Pop-Up: Open Tuesdays from 2 pm to 7 pm.
- Quarterly Recycle It Saturday Drop-Off Events: Held at Alexandra Canal Depot.
Special thanks to Elissa Lawrence, Waste Education Outreach Officer at the City of Sydney, and Lisa Kwok from the IGS P&C for making this event possible. It was a wonderful opportunity to promote sustainability and responsible recycling in our Community.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
