Education is not just for the students. 5 Blue Home Class Teacher Jessica Price has been working to develop a range of workshops for our Early Career Teachers (ECT).
“These workshops are designed to extend and expand their skills and ensure they are equipped with the most up to date skills for the primary classroom,” Jessica said.
“This workshop program runs alongside an Observation Program where experienced teachers offer opportunities where classrooms are open to our ECT.
“Our first ECT workshop was on Tuesday 6 September and Nathan Da Fonte presented ‘Visible Learning Strategies – Learning Intentions and Success Criteria’. The workshop was engaging and offered our ECT colleagues practical ideas as well as the research behind this important teaching strategy.
“Fellow Home Class teachers were offered the opportunity to come along and we had 15 Primary Home Class teachers attend. We look forward to our next session in a fortnight where we explore engagement with Michelle Weir,” Jessica said.
