Last Wednesday, Year 11 Geography students embarked on an exciting fieldwork excursion to the Eastern Suburbs, an integral part of their Preliminary Geography course. Departing from IGS early in the morning, the students were eager to explore and investigate the coastal environment along the iconic Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk.
Throughout the day, students visited several key sites, engaging in hands-on fieldwork tasks designed to enhance their understanding of Earth’s natural systems. This immersive experience allowed them to directly observe and study coastal processes, ecosystems, and the impact of human activity on this dynamic environment.
The excursion not only provided a practical application of classroom learning but also inspired a greater appreciation for the natural beauty and complexity of our coastal landscapes. We are proud of our students’ enthusiasm and commitment to their studies and look forward to more enriching fieldwork experiences in the future.
