Harmony Day celebrates cultural diversity, inclusiveness, and respect for all, closely aligned with the IGS values and motto of Unity Through Diversity.
Harmony Day is a reminder of the richness of cultural diversity and the importance of building bridges between different cultures and communities.
IGS celebrated Harmony Day with staff and students wearing orange and national costumes as well as a variety of activities and events throughout the school. Enjoy the gallery.
Our Early Learning Centre also celebrated Harmony Day with a smoking ceremony and an official unveiling of the class totems. Read more about the Harmony Day celebrations in Early Learning here.
In Primary School language classes students discussed what Harmony Day means to them, with responses including “peace”, “diversity”, “living together even though we look different” and “it’s okay to be different”. Then they participated in a craft activity using the keywords to create beautiful floral wall displays within the school.
