The theme this year is The Transformation of Education Begins with Teachers. World Teacher’s Day is observed all over the world since 1994. As UNESCO states, the event “speaks to a massive token of the mindfulness, comprehension and thankfulness showed for the fundamental commitment that educators make in advancement by teaching”.
SRC Leader Sami Lightfoot and students have thanked IGS teachers and staff in the video below.
Staff gathered for donuts and also enjoyed a coffee cart and pizza for lunch in the Colleagues’ Lounge.
Principal Shauna Colnan said, “IGS is a warm and special place and today my colleagues and I are so grateful for the support and acknowledgment we have received from our Student Representative Council and from our parent and carer community through the PTF’s delicious donut treats. Thank you to PTF President Hayley Dean and to all our parents and carers for your thoughtful gift and your warm sentiments.”
