IGS Tennis Teams Compete at North Ryde Tournament

Written by Nicholas T IGS Senior Team 1 Captain

The IGS Tennis Teams Competed on Monday 24 March at North Ryde Tennis World. The students who competed included:

Senior 1
Nicholas T, Max Irvine F, James C and Marcel M

Senior 2
Blake L, Sam B, Ronan A and Auden G

Junior
Woodrow C, Luca De C, August A and William J

The senior boys team lineup had me as the number one player, Max at number two, and James and Marcel at three and four, playing doubles.

IGS started strong against Moriah, with me winning 5-1. Max fought hard but lost 5-1, and James and Marcel fell 6-2 in doubles. Against Emmanuel, I dominated 6-0, Max bounced back with a 5-1 win, and James and Marcel secured victory in a tight final set.

We were supposed to play the semifinals, where we were favourites, which would have set up a rematch against Moriah in the final. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, the semis weren’t played, but it was still a great day of tennis. I was proud of how the team performed, and leading them in such a competitive tournament was an amazing experience.
