In celebrating the artistic achievements of 200+ musicians across the Primary School and High School, this concert represents the resilience of students who have worked with immense determination
across the course of this year, particularly after the various impacts on their music-making during the pandemic.
Alongside a selection of soloists and invited performers, the Music Ensembles performing in the 2022 Music Showcase include Kelly Street Band, Paganini Players, Primary String Quartet, Sarasate Strings, Senior Jazz Ensemble, Senior Orchestra, Senior Strings, Senior Vocal Ensemble, Years 3-6 Choir and Wind Orchestra.
Repertoire is based on magical, whimsical and fantastical themes, in exploring music through nature and many other incredible sounds as part of our universe. This event will also premiere commissioned works for IGS, by residential composer’s Harry Sdraulig (2022) and Ella Macens (2021), with these wonderful pieces being performed by students and staff in collaborative performance contexts.
Ticket bookings are now open to the IGS School Community and attendance at this event is FREE, with bookings made by clicking here. Please note there is a limit of two seats per family to attend this event.
