Molding ideas in Ceramics Club

Created to spark students’ imagination and let creativity run wild, the IGS Ceramics Club is led by our wonderfully talented Art Technician, Laura Vail. This applied arts club delivers a hands-on, imaginative adventure in the world of clay.

In Ceramics Club students are introduced to how to build with clay using their hands, while applying original concepts. Together with Laura, they create small ceramic objects that explore different hand building techniques as well as texture, colour, and shape. Most importantly it’s lots of fun!

Laura prioritises each student’s creative originality, providing project ideas with enough scope that the student can make it their own. Works created have ranged from pinch pot monsters and small vases to mini ceramic magnets and coil plates. There’s no limit to what a child can create. We’ve even seen every imaginable animal come to life through the magic of clay!

At IGS, we believe that every student is a unique artist in their own right. That’s why Laura project ideas provide just the right amount of flexibility for each student to put their own personal touch on their creations. Results are truly one-of-a-kind.

Ceramics Club is an incredible opportunity for students to express themselves, explore their creativity, and have a ton of fun along the way!
