Congratulations are in order for Deputy Principal Wellbeing Mary Duma. We are incredibly proud to share that Ms Duma has been granted an Honorary Fellowship of the Teachers’ Guild of New South Wales.
Honorary Fellowships of The Teachers’ Guild of New South Wales recognise outstanding educators who have made major contributions both within their mainstream sphere of work and more broadly across the profession.
The Teachers’ Guild of New South Wales seeks to promote and further the cause of education and to assist the teaching profession through activities including the maintenance of professional standards.
Ms Duma’s nomination for this significant honour was made by Dr Frederick Osman, a senior education leader with over three decades of experience in education and management at the tertiary and secondary levels. Dr Osman is recognised as Fellow and President of the Australian College of Educators and Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales for outstanding leadership in the tertiary and secondary education sectors, he currently serves as the Chair of the NSW Training Awards and is President and Fellow of the Teachers’ Guild of New South Wales. The nomination of Ms Duma was carefully considered by The Awards Committee, who assessed it against the stringent criteria. Following the Committee’s recommendation, The Council of the Guild officially approved the award. A formal award presentation take place later this year.
We are all so grateful for Ms Duma’s contribution to learning and wellbeing at IGS. Recognition for her outstanding achievements is a testament to her tireless dedication and genuine care for students. Her work has left an indelible mark not only on the IGS community but also on the future endeavours of our students.
Let us collectively celebrate and extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms Duma!
