Today at IGS we held a mufti day in support of Souths Cares. At one of the School’s National Reconciliation Week events, we wore team jerseys and colours in acknowledgment of Souths Cares, who has worked closely with some of our Indigenous students over the past few years as part of the Deadly Youth Mentoring Program.
Souths Cares is an independent not-for-profit public benevolent institution closely affiliated with the South Sydney Rabbitohs Football Club. Their charter is to support disadvantaged, marginalised, and Indigenous youth and families with a specific focus on education, training, health, and employment.
It was great to see the turnout across the school with students and staff of all ages in their sports kits. The total amount raised will be announced in a few weeks at our primary and high school assemblies.
