Nature’s Classroom: A Year 5 Camp to remember

Our Year 5 students embarked on an outdoor adventure this week, forging new friendships and creating lasting memories during their Outdoor Education Camp at Stanwell Tops.

Setting off from the school on Wednesday, the air was buzzing with excitement as our young explorers embarked on this educational voyage.

The Year 5 Outdoor Education Camp at Stanwell Tops is a crucial component of our school’s Outdoor Education Program, serving as a cornerstone in our students’ educational journey. It cultivates invaluable life skills and instills a profound appreciation for the natural world.

Under the supervision of our teachers and guided by qualified and certified instructors from Southbound Adventures, our students enjoyed a wide range of activities promoting physical well-being. The activities encouraged teamwork and problem-solving, while our students gained knowledge of the local ecosystem and Indigenous culture.

Some of the activities included swimming and exploring on mountain bikes and on foot. Enviro Games also provided the opportunity to learn about the environment while having fun. The exhilarating experience of the Giant Swing challenged students’ courage and Archery developed focus and precision.

As our Year 5 students return from this memorable adventure this afternoon, we thank the teachers who accompanied them and Southbound Adventures for making this camp a resounding success. The memories and skills acquired during this camp will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact.
