IGS Drama Teacher, actor and writer Ned Manning recently talked to Richard Fidler for ABC’s Conversations to share a deeply personal journey of rediscovering his mother, Margot.
Born in country New South Wales, Ned grew up with stories of his mother’s vivacious spirit. However, after her passing when he was just 12, she was rarely spoken about. Determined to reconnect with her memory, Ned embarked on a journey through Victorian State Library archives, piecing together fragments of her life and reimagining the story of his parents—an exploration that led to his book Painting the Light.
