R U OK? Day 2024

IGS recently joined the national movement to support mental health and wellbeing by marking R U OK? Day.

Outside the front gate the school community came together to show support for one another and the students. Rocky the therapy dog was present to lift spirits, while members of the P&C checked in with teachers . Student leaders also greeted their peers with stickers and sparked conversations as students entered the gates. Handing out chalk to enthusiastic Primary students was Joseph Degeling Director of Counselling Services, who was instrumental in the organisation of these events.

Year 11 student Sammy played a role in helping to explain how to ask R U OK? reminding us that we don’t need to be experts to start a conversation, just good friends and great listeners. Watch below!
