Recently, Year 4 embarked on an educational adventure, tracing the footsteps of history. Their destination? The arrival of the First Fleet – a pivotal moment in Australia’s past. Guided by the experts at The Rocks Walking Tours, our young explorers immersed themselves in the saga of the 11 ships that sailed from England to this distant land in 1788. The highlight of the day was students having the opportunity to dress up and step into the shoes of explorers, convicts and pioneers. Through playful re-enactment, they glimpsed the courage, hardship and resilience of those who were involved in England’s colonisation of Australia.
It was an excellent day of adventure as students bridged centuries; exploring the past while creating memories of their own.
