Drama isn’t only about stagecraft, embodiment and blocking – this term in Year 9 Drama, students have been enjoying coming to the Bibliothèque to improve their understanding of the art of script writing.
Director of the Bibliothèque Patrice Marchbank has welcomed the Year 9 Drama Class with Drama Teacher Ned Manning leading the students in an introduction to the history of play and scriptwriting, from Euripides and Aeschylus to Moliere, Chekhov and Brecht.
“This encounter with some of the greatest texts from the history of the stage is giving them a strong foundation from which to choose and perform their own monologues,” Mr Manning said.
