Year 4 students enjoyed perfect weather for their Sustainability and Architecture excursion to the Sydney Opera House on Wednesday 26 July.
Students participated in a guided tour and workshop linked to their Science unit, Green Dream Home. This included a walking journey to learn about how Australia and a man from Denmark, Jørn Utzon, created a sculpture on Sydney Harbour that changed the course of twentieth-century architecture and the city of Sydney as we know it.
Students considered how architects create buildings to meet a particular purpose for people to inhabit, work, move and explore in urban spaces as well as some of the leading principles to consider when designing and building spaces and places.
