The Fruits of Knowledge

On Thursday 27 February, Jungaa children had the opportunity to learn about Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish New Year of the Trees. Julia Glass, an IGS Alum, former staff member and now parent, visited in the morning to share the history and traditions of the festival. She read a book with the children and showed photos to help bring the celebration to life.

As part of the experience, children enjoyed a fruit platter, in keeping with the festival’s tradition of tasting different fruits. The children were delighted to be eating fresh fruit, enjoying the watermelon most of all.

If you have a special cultural tradition or celebration you would like to share, reach out to your child’s teachers.
