On Sunday both our Intermediate and Senior TheatreSport Teams performed excellently at the Enmore Theatre. The Seniors led the competition until they missed out on the chance to perform their preferred beloved Shakespeare scene. Most memorable was the Intermediate Team’s Musical Theatre Broadway moment where they scored a perfect 5/5/5 and were the only team to do so! We are incredibly proud of both teams with their camaraderie and team spirit that was consistently on show. To that end, IGS achieved the incredible status of winning the Elliot Miller Award and medallions in both the Senior and Intermediate categories.
This award is given to the student who embodies the generosity of spirit in the competition and deemed the most valued improvisor. Past IGS Alums who have earned this honour are Isabella Pinson, Madiba Doyle-Lambert, and Audrey Storer.
This year the award was given to Kai Hook in the Intermediate Team and once again to Audrey Storer in her Senior Team.
To have this award bestowed upon two IGS students, from all students across NSW, is indicative of the consistent generosity and support our students give to one another.
Congratulations to everyone involved, including our coach IGS Alum Lukian Adams who has coached his final team competition – next year he will pursue his PhD studies interstate. As a tribute to Lukian both teams dressed like Lukian, complete with crocs!
