Deputy Head of High School Fabian Mandrini
Fabian is joining IGS in 2022 as our new Deputy Head of High School. Fabian is a highly experienced, collaborative and energetic educator, with strong interpersonal skills.
Most recently Fabian was in the role of Head of Secondary School at William Clarke College. Prior to this, Fabian was the Head of Economics and Business Studies at The King’s School; a position he held for 10 years from 2008.
Fabian has also held positions as a Housemaster and Boarding Master at Kings and as a teacher of Economics and Business Studies.
He holds a Master of Education (Leadership), a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics and Political Science, and a Graduate Diploma of Education from the University of Sydney.
Assistant Head of Mathematics Lisa Lin
Lisa believes learning about Mathematics should be fun and accessible to all.
She has a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science from Sydney University, and for the last five years, has been working at The King’s School, teaching students from Year 7 to Year 12. Prior to this she worked at William Clarke College.
Lisa has been involved in coordinating Australian Maths Competitions, homework clubs, coaching sports including Volleyball, Water Polo, Table Tennis and Badminton.
She has always been passionate about helping others with their learning and sharing her love of Mathematics. This began in high school when friends would always come to her for help with their studies.
Head of Kindergarten to Year 2 Julia Preece
Julia has been teaching for almost 20 years and has taught across all primary year groups in a range of different settings from public and independent schools, to teaching school groups about Canadian wildlife in Vancouver.
She also spent 10 years teaching in London, where she became involved in the Assessment for Learning pedagogy and was fortunate to work with some great leaders in this field, embedding this approach in her teaching and learning pedagogy ongoingly.
Julia has spent the past seven years at Moriah College in Bondi working extensively with the Early Stage One and Stage One teams, together with a quick stint as Head of Stage 3, before her son Jimmy was born.
Julia is passionate about positive psychology and early years learning and intervention. She values and builds partnerships and is an approachable and reliable team member. Having extensive leadership experience, in senior leadership teams as Assistant Principal, Leader of Learning and as Stage Coordinator and Julia is very excited to join the IGS team in the role of Head of Kindergarten to Year 2.
Acting Head of Stage 2 Lulu Sanderson
Lulu completed her Bachelor of Education in 2011 and over the past 10 years, has taught at multiple schools across Perth and Sydney.
Moving from Western Australia in 2014, Lulu worked to support teachers with inclusion in early learning education setting, before returning to the classroom.
She has been a member of various school leadership teams, most recently at Newington College where she spent six years as a classroom teacher and educational leader.
In 2019, Lulu was a guest speaker at the National THRASS Conference (Teaching Handwriting, Reading And Spelling Skills) to support others in teaching the building blocks of reading and spelling in Primary education, and has facilitated and supported professional learning for teachers and schools who were eager to implement the program.
Throughout her career Lulu has enjoyed working with different teams, mentoring staff, attending and speaking at education conferences, learning from others, and driving best practice for students. She is very much looking forward to joining the team at IGS.
When not teaching, Lulu enjoys delicious food, travel, going to the theatre and taking her dog on long walks.
