Last week, our Year 4 students embarked on an exciting excursion to The Retreat in Kangaroo Valley. They kicked off with an engaging game of Bus Bingo, setting the tone for a day filled with fun and learning.
A pitstop at Lake Alexandra in Mittagong provided the perfect opportunity for a snack and a much-needed movement break. Energised and ready for more, the students hopped back on the bus to head to much anticipated time at The Retreat.
Upon arrival, the students were treated to the breathtaking beauty of The Retreat, complemented by gorgeous weather that added an extra layer of enchantment to the day. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the smoking ceremony and yarning circle, where students could ask questions about Country and First Nations culture. The genuine enthusiasm and curiosity displayed by our Year 4 students made this experience very special.
After a healthy lunch and a quick play, it was time to go back to IGS. The excursion to The Retreat in Kangaroo Valley provided our Year 4 students with a day of enjoyment and offered a meaningful opportunity for cultural exploration and understanding. We look forward to more enriching experiences that contribute to the holistic development of our students.
