Last week, our Year 6 students embarked on an exciting two-night Outdoor Education Camp at Attunga in Southern Highlands. The experience extended to Kangaroo Valley, providing an opportunity for students to bond with their peers and take their first steps into the School’s Outdoor Education Program, which continues from Years 7 to 9.
Managed by Southbound Adventures, the camp featured a variety of activities led by highly qualified and certified instructors. Highlights included the Adventure Race, Pool Activities, Canoeing, Team Challenges, Bushwalking and the exhilarating Valley Flying Fox.
The Flying Fox was a standout activity, with students soaring through the valley and taking in the stunning natural surroundings. Team activities encouraged collaboration and helped students strengthen their connections while having fun.
These activities not only encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones but also fostered teamwork, resilience and a fun way to connect with nature.
Special thanks go to all the IGS educators who supported this memorable experience, ensuring it was both safe and enriching. Camps like these play an essential role in our students’ development and wellbeing, preparing them for future adventures.
