Year 9 Camp takes fun to new heights

Year 9 students took fun in the outdoors to new heights with adventures on the high ropes course and some mountain biking with Principal Shauna Colnan.

Over three days, students enjoyed camping in the great outdoors at Tallong, Southern Highlands. They participated in activities including bushwalking, high ropes, mountain bike riding and orienteering.

IGS Principal Shauna Colnan said It was great to spend time with Year 9 out in nature.

“They jumped into the challenges of the camp with lots of energy and joy and had a wonderful time,” Ms Colnan said.

Director of Advancement Paul Galea said the Year 9 Camp “was an outstanding success”.

“Camping under the stars with a bonfire was terrific fun. Camping, mountain biking, the high ropes and orienteering were the favourites. We even had three or four kids who learnt to ride a bike for the first time! The students got stuck in, learnt a little bit, appreciated being out in nature and really developed their leadership skills,” Mr Galea said.

“We were all very, very tired by the last night!”
