IGS Director of Advancement Paul Galea has spent the last 30 years getting to know IGS students, previously as their PDHPE or History teacher, as Head of After Care and Vacation Care, Director of Student Activities, Deputy Head of High School, and now, Director of Advancement.
In regular, fascinating WITWATs, Paul chats with IGS Alums from around the globe to reminisce on their school days, find out what they are up to now, and share their wisdom with our students, teachers and the wider IGS community, past and present.

We invite IGS parents, caregivers and Alums to submit expressions of interest to participate in our Mentoring Program to help us to equip our students to be world ready.
There are two options to give back to our Year 11 students as they embark upon their journey into Year 12:
Explore creative internships with IGS students. Choose a flexible holiday work placement, ranging from a day to a few weeks—it’s up to you. IGS provides a Certificate of Currency for comprehensive insurance coverage in workplace environments. Join the program to help support and nurture students during their transition from school to university or work.
Engage in student mentoring. Join us to share your professional insights in a small group setting, providing students with a window into diverse career opportunities. We welcome individuals from various fields, including mathematics, music, science, technology, the arts, and design. This initiative aligns with our commitment in the IGS Strategic Plan to inspire meaningful engagement with local, national, and global initiatives.
Please contact IGS Director of Advancement Paul Galea register your interest. Please include your name, phone, email, a brief description of your profession and what you may be able to offer. Email paulg@igssyd.nsw.edu.au
Did you know that IGS Year 12 graduates who are now parents themselves will be given preferential consideration for their child’s enrolment at IGS?
Please be sure to note on the Enrolment Application that you are a graduate of IGS in order to receive this priority placement on our waitlist for your child.
